We do a lot of writing in class.  Our writing demonstrates our skills and how developed they are.  This page will list the current topics and required lengths.  If you are going to be out, check here so that you can make it up or continue if you didn't quite finish it from class.

Every Monday, student should copy down character word, definition, quote and give a 3 sentence reply to the quote.  They can answer the question. "What does the quote mean to me?"
 
March 15:  Dependable-able to count on, depend on, and trust.  "Few things can help an individual more than to place responsibility on him and let him know that you trust him."~~ Booker T. Washington
 
March 22:  Respect for the Environment-to feel or show honor for the environment. "Man shapes himself through decisions that shape his environment." ~~ Rene Dubos
 
March 29:  Sportsmanship-Living by the rules of the contest and accepting victory or defeat graciously.  "One man practicing sportsmanship is better than a hundred teaching it." Knute Rockne.
 
April 12:  Pride-proper delight or satisfaction in your own accomplishments.  "If one takes pride in one's craft, you won't let a good thing die." Paul Keating.
 
April 19: No Journal, CRCT TESTING

Tuesday through Friday. Journal Questions.
All paragraph responses should be 8 sentences in length.
March 16: Early Release
March 17: What have you done recently to show you are dependable?
March 18: Library Day
March 19: What more could you do to show others you are dependable?
 
March 23:  How can you show respect for the environment?
March 24:  List and describe jobs that provide respect for the environment.
March 25: What do you enjoy doing in the environment?       
March 30:  Describe how players you have seen play sports have behaved.  Did they use good sportmanship?
April 13:  What are some important ways people can show pride in their accomplishments?
April 14:  How can you show family pride?
April 15: Draw a picture that represents pride.
April 16:  Write a short story about someone with pride.
April 19 through April 23: No Journal entry, CRCT       

Journals will next be checked and graded on May 7, 2004.  Please make sure you have all your entries by that Friday.
